loosie rouge | brooklyn, ny

Loosie Rouge has to be one of my favorite places in Williamsburg. Part bar/part cafe/part restaurant and entirely adorable, it basically has everything one could ever want. Originally just the bar area, Loosie Rouge, the space was recently expanded to include a beautiful bright and airy backyard space with a glass roof to let in the light. Decked out in all white and lush green plants, the space gives off some serious summer vibes no matter what time of year. I'll be honest, I was a little bummed when they opened up the separate entrance to the cafe/restaurant. Prior to this second entrance the only way to get to the restaurant was through the swinging double doors to the kitchen - and who doesn't love a good speakeasy vibe? But the new entrance has some great outdoor space, complete with hammocks and a decorative bathtub, so I'll let it slide. Although I truly haven't had a bad meal here, I will say that brunch is the way to go. And although the bar might be small, the cocktails are great, the bartenders nice, and the vibes good. Plus there's live music on Sunday's and Monday's...not a bad way to fight the Sunday scaries or the Monday blues, right?

their coasters are pretty damn great too.

The cafe opens at 7 am, serving free coffee between 7 and 8 and starting happy hour at noon - basically the freelancer's dream. The space turns into Loosie's Kitchen at 6 pm when dinner service starts, and breakfast/brunch is offered daily (get the BEC sandwich). Reservations accepted, but not always needed, and come early to get a seat at the bar after dinner. Enjoy!
